On birthdays

hi guys, a lot has happened to me within the last month and it seems like my whole world is changing around me, and as I am cleaning up my apartment to get ready to move to a new place, I dug up some birthday gifts that my girl friend gave me on the first birthday that she celebrated for me. They are nothing extravagant, nothing expensive, but it was well thought out and I look at them it brought back a surge of memories of that day, what I did, how I felt and I try to rationalize all those feelings it suddenly occur to me why people celebrate birthdays. For as long as I can remember, I never put much importance on birthday celebrations. As far as I am concerned its just another day just like yesterday or tomorrow. But now I realize that a birthday is special not because its the day that you are born, rather it is special because it is an occasion where we can create a special memories that we can remember for the rest of our lives. Ultimately as we grow older the only thing that will consistently accompany us till death are ourselves and our memories. And in that aspect our birthdays are extremely important because it helps us build something special that will truly stay with us throughout our lives. Right now I am trying to recall specific memories of the last two years and to be honest, I can't remember much. I mean I can remember what happened over the 2 years, but in terms of specific memories the only real specific memory I can remember is the day that my girl friend gave me my birthday gift. I can remember what I did, what I felt right at that moment, and it such a strange feeling and you know what? it feels good, I feel happy as if I just saw a long lost friend. Maybe that is the point of celebrating birthdays. So that we can develop memories that can help bring us happiness. A happiness that can stay with us forever.

why conservatives say they don't blieve in Global warming

I know why conservatives don't want to stop global warming. You see it is all a diabolical scheme for them to consolidate power and get rid of all the liberals. They think that since all the blue states are along the coast, so if global warming melts all the ice and floods all the costal states then there will be nothing but red states left. Thats right Karl Rove!!! I am on to you!!!!

random rant

here is a story of two of my good friends

Friend #1
Doctor told my friend that his/her dog has cancer and have less than a month to live. My friend flew home across the pacific ocean and is currently spending time with his/her dog.

Friend #2
Doctor told my friend that his/her mother has cancer and has less than a month to live. My friend is unable to come see his/her mom one last time because she died while he/she is applying for permission to come to the states.

both these events happened within the last month. I dunno, it just seemed wrong. I am happy for my friend who is able to see his/her dog before it dies. I think its sad and screwed up that my other friend wasn't allowed to come see his/her mother one last time. If there is a god, and if everything is divine will, this has got to be some sick disgusting joke.

Hey, it’s been a while since I updated Xanga, finally a new entry, cool huh? Anyways while I was watching the NBA game today, I realize that the NBA has far too many black and not enough of well, pretty much everyone else, and I think that the NBA can benefit from greater diversity therefore I propose that NBA should implement affirmative action. Due to the inherent skewed playing field faced by non black players (e.g. height), I don't believe that a uniformed point system should be applied to players of all races. In order to encourage NBA teams to draft more non black players I propose a new point system where depending on race, bonus points would be given to a player whenever he makes a basket.
Since Asians are the most under represented race in the NBA I believe that Asians should be given the most bonus points per basket. Whenever an Asian player makes a basket it should be worth 4 points and whenever an Asian player makes a 3 pointer it should be worth 6 points.
Caucasian players on the other hand since there are more of them in the NBA than Asians, would receive less bonus points when they make basket. Whenever a Caucasian player makes a regular basket it should be worth 3 points and whenever they make a 3 pointer should be worth 5 points.
Player of all other race other than black would also receive a bonus points whenever they make a basket. A regular basket it should be worth 2.5 points and whenever they make a 3 pointer it should be worth 4 points.
Since black players makes up a majority of the player in the NBA, therefore they don't receive any bonus points, for them a regular basket would still be 2 points and 3 pointers would still be 3 points.
This new point system would level the playing field for all non black players and would introduce greater diversity into the NBA which as we all know, diversity is a good thing. So what do you guys think? feel free to leave your opinions.
